About

close hug2 - tiny Hi!  My name is Heather Hersey, and I am a high school teacher librarian.  I started this blog to record my exploration of the changing role of librarians and of incorporating new technologies and a more student-centered focus into learning.  I am highly collaborative, and am passionate about inquiry and the information search process.

Great articles. Keep up the good work. RE: TLw/ASMP I have that too! more than, you- I’m not even on FB yet. For me, I think its an age thing- my generation did not text or have MySpace. I had been suspicious of social media for the longest time. Afraid that by putting even my photo online that someone could stalk me. Not so, I even changed my Twitter account to Public, after cautiously delving in only with a private account for 5 months. Nothing bad happened! I’ve learned a lot from Twitter- find many geat websites, colleagues with similar interests, keeping up with current events, have discovered the world of blogs (which I used to skeptically dismiss in terms of reference work) and feel less like a dinosaur in terms of technology in my regular workday. Plus social media helps me expand out of the children’s litereature bubble I’m in for most of my professional day.

You did make me chuckle at the thought of you “digitally naked.” Again, great article. -L
